Breakthrough - The Musical- Opening Number
Getting Suno to do what I want
Or at least trying. The opener is a summation of what is to come. I will post the lyrics below. The thing is getting Suno to match the emotions I’m trying to portray is a bit of a problem at the moment. I may have to generate verse by verse and cut them all together. I’ve tried different annotations and have a few verses that are pretty spot on as well as a very emotional bridge. Anyway. These are the current lyrics and this is the current state of the song. The final version will probably be unrecognizable when compared to this but this is where I am at in the process. I really, really like the end. There are obvious pronunciation errors but those can be fixed as well. Comments, suggestions, and tech advice is welcome.
[Intro] Every soul has a story to tell Some walk through heaven, some crawl through hell This is the tale of a soul that fell so far This is the story of finding who you are [Verse] Welcome, get ready, you're in for a ride Through the self-made hell where the broken reside You'll witness the crashing, you'll feel the sharp sting Then behold the redemption that salvation can bring [Verse] That moment arrives when you completely break down As you sink in the water in your hometown Where every last hope slips away like a stone And you see that you were never truly alone [Verse] It began with a boy so clever and young Where praise was a weapon, not a truth on the tongue You're special the poison, brilliant a curse A beautiful lie that just got worse and worse [Verse] Dressing up the lie in a suit and tie Chased the hustle with a hungry eye Losing the boy with every new high A hollow man on a desperate ride [Chorus] This is the fracture, the coming undone The scream in the mirror when you're no longer just one It's the long, lonely fall from a dangerous height Where a hopeful ember burns in the night [Bridge] But sometimes when you're at the end And you've got no more friends And you've got nothing to pretend That's when the broken mind can begin to mend A whisper then cuts through the night Not loud but true, not dark but light It doesn't promise glory or fame Just that you don't have to live in chains [Chorus] That was the fracture, the coming undone That scream in the mirror from a battle not won It was the long fall that teaches the fight And the flicker of hope that becomes the new light [Finale] And this is the moment the tide finally turns Where a lifetime of failure becomes what you learn The second where ending becomes a new start The breakthrough that healed a shattered heart Breakthrough, breakthrough When all that was left was what grace could do Breakthrough, breakthrough God's mercy makes all things new This is the story, this is what's true The breakthrough that makes a life new This is the story of amazing grace The breakthrough that changed the race This is the story of the turning tide The breakthrough where hope arrived From shattered dreams and broken plans Comes redemption in God's hands Breakthrough.

Pretty good. When it started chanting "Breakthrough," it was like the musical equivalent of a viking epic.
